Earlier this week in NYC, burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese proved herself to be one of the most fashion-forward women on the planet when she modeled the very first fully 3-D printed dress. Made from a type of hardened nylon, Teese's dress was designed by Los Angeles designer Michael Schmidt — whose fashions have previously been seen on Lady Gaga and Rihanna — and Brooklyn-based architect Francis Bitonti. Their creation was then printed by Shapeways, a 3D-printing design studio, before being assembled and lacquered.
