Singer Rihanna also slayed the red carpet back in 2014 with an equally seductive bathrobe-style gown with a matching bodysuit, revealing sculpted stems for days. Pearlstein believes there are a variety of ways to wear and own this style. “My advice to pull this off in real life would be to pair the bedroom-inspired piece with something in a stiffer, more structured fabric,” suggests Pearlstein. “For example, a pair of black skinny jeans worn under your silk robe will ground the item and make it look purposeful…another example is to pair a lacey camisole with a denim or leather jacket.” “You want to achieve that push and pull of lingerie versus real life,” adds Pearlstein.
