PHOTOS: Celebrities Love Their Modern Mullets
First it was the bob, then the lob, and now … the modern mullet?

In the case of several celebrities, this daring haircut, sometimes described as "business in the front, party in the back," is here again.
According to The New York Times, the short-in-the-front, long-in-the-back hairstyle has been having a moment lately, but it’s not the same severe cut you remember from the ‘80s and ‘90s. Today’s variation of the mullet is more tousled, sophisticated — a lengthier shag with an edge. The publication is reporting that this mullet revival first kicked off in the Marc Jacobs fall 2013 runway show, and since then, more and more celebs have been embracing this throwback hairstyle that once permeated the stage of "The Jerry Springer Show."
“In fact, if you have a long-banged bob, you can say you’re trying out the trend already,” adds POPSUGAR on the newer variation.

While this may not be a look many women will rock anytime soon, some stylists insist it’s an option to consider trying once, especially if you’re growing out your hair.
“It’s something for everyone,” says celebrity stylist Marc Mena to The New York Times. “Wear it little more loose, using texture spray to style it, as opposed to a mousse or gel as in the ‘80s. It’s a good way to do something interesting with hair while it’s growing out, for those who do not want to look like a soccer mom, have more edge.”
