We'd all like to think our taste in home décor is impeccable. But unless we're all respected interior designers like Blanche Garcia, we're probably wrong.
Garcia is a expert with over 18 years of experience in renovation and interior design, having appeared as a principal designer on Travel Channel's "Hotel Impossible" and a contestant on HGTV's "Design Star." So when she says there's something wrong with our curtains, we should probably listen.
"There's a top two for me — no, there's three, I'll stick to three," explains Garcia of her biggest decorating pet peeves. "One pet peeve is that artwork is too high. Why do you think your artwork needs to be six feet in the air?"
In addition to two more of her décor don'ts — along with suggestions on how to correct them — Garcia also tells us how we can bring the comfy, clean look of an upscale hotel into our own bedroom.
If you're in the middle of a renovation or just thinking about redecorating your place, be sure to jot down Blanche's tips from the video above.
(And really, lower your artwork. It's just )
