Claire Danes Might've Used a Little Too Much Self-Tanner Before the Emmys
There's a famous scene in "Goldfinger" where James Bond awakens to find his girlfriend's dead body covered from head to toe in gold paint (above).
Now, we're not saying that was the exact look Claire Danes was going for at Sunday night's Emmy Awards, but that's certainly what her fans/critics on Twitter are making it sound like.
The "Homeland" actress — who looked pretty fantastic in her shimmering Schiaparelli gown otherwise — has been catching a lot of flak from the online community for her (allegedly) liberal use of self-tanning spray. In addition to those less-than-flattering Twitter remarks — which describe her hue as everything from "orange" to "Cheeto dust" — Danes' golden complexion has already been called a "fail" by such outlets as the Mirror and the Daily Mail, with Page Six going so far as to compare her to orangey presidential candidate Donald Trump.

We admit, Danes does look like she applied a little too much bronzer in certain photos — especially when she's standing next to her husband, or fellow Emmy winner Bryan Cranston (below) — but we doubt this makeup malfunction will stain her otherwise admirable red-carpet career. After all, let's not forget she wore the coolest light-up dress to this year's Met Gala. (That's gotta count for something, right?)
