Pilates concentrates on the deepest layer of abdominals—the transversus—which acts like an inner girdle. I often remind my students to scoop their abs in and up, or to imagine wearing a corset or zipping up a tight pair of jeans. As you do each one of these exercises keep the sensation of hollowing out your lower abdominals and knitting your front ribs together.
Pilates also helps you connect your mind and body and you’ll start to listen to your true hunger cues. You’ll naturally crave healthier foods and only eat until you’re satisfied, not stuffed. Bring on the bikini!
