Turkey Meatloaf Burger with Smoky, Hot Ketchup

A recipe that keeps cholesterol down, protects against birth defects, cancer and heart disease.

    1 lb. ground turkey
    ½ lb. ground pork
    1 medium carrot, grated
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
    2 tablespoons ketchup
    1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
    ½ teaspoon ground cumin
    ½ teaspoon onion powder
    2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
    1 pkg turkey bacon
    6 rolls
    Salt and pepper Ketchup:
    1 tablespoon butter
    1 garlic clove, minced
    1 cup ketchup
    ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
    ¼ teaspoon chipotle chili powder

    Step 1: In a saucepan over medium heat, lightly sauté garlic in butter. About a minute or two.

    Step 2: Add ketchup, red pepper flakes and chipotle chili powder. Cook for a few more minutes. Let cool before serving

    Step 3: In large skillet, cook bacon (2 slices per burger). While bacon is cooking, prepare your ingredients by grating the carrot and chopping the garlic. Then heat a large skillet over medium heat and add oil.

    Step 4: In a large bowl, using your hands, mix together turkey, pork, grated carrot, garlic, parmesan cheese, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, cumin, onion powder and season well with salt and pepper.

    Step 5: Score the meat mixture into 6 even patties.

    Step 6: Sear the patties on both sides until golden brown, about 6 minutes on each side.

    Step 7: Slather both sides of your bun with spicy ketchup.

    Step 8: Place burger inside hamburger buns topped with lettuce and turkey bacon.
