    Brangelina: the hotels that led them to the altar

    After promises that they wouldn't get married until all Americans could marry legally, Brad and Angelina are now officially engaged. Famous for having date night at various hotels around the country, Oyster.com took a look at some of the proprieties that brought the A-list Hollywood couple closer over the years.

    We never thought it would happen. Its official –the couple is engaged and Brangelina will become Mr. and Mrs. Pitt, presumably sometime this summer.  And whenever there’s a momentous occasion in Hollywood such as this, we like to take a look back at the moments that made it all happen…and of course, the hotels where all of those moments went down.

    The couple spent came to the Mandarin in 2009 while Angelina filmed Salt and Brad lobbied for more aggressive reconstruction in New Orleans. Jolie liked it's proximity to the United Nations.

    Oyster says that rumors of their relationship begun when the film Mr. & Mrs. Smith began filming in 2004. Although they didn't answer questions about their relationship, Oyster says that this is where it all started. Shortly after Angelina announced her pregnancy, stirring rumors.

    The couple was spotted at a Golden Globes after-party here in January, reportedly being very affectionate, even saying how she looks forward to getting in bed with him that night. Oyster theorized that their engagement occurred that night.

    In 2010, a Waldorf Astoria employee claimed that Angelina was having an affair at the hotel. The rumors were denied, and their relationship stayed strong according to Oyster.

    Brad and Angelina came here on one of their first family vacations, shortly after Shiloh was born. It was built from a historic sugar plantation and sits on 170 acres of a protected national park speckled with seven remote beaches. Brangelina stayed in Cottage 7, previous home of Laurance Rockefeller.

    According to Oyster, Angelina says that she fell in love with Brad when Maddox called him "dad." He brought Maddox and Pax to this hotel in 2009, and then took thme to see a Cirque du Soleil performance.
