America's best restaurants

The results are in. We've scoured the nation to put together a list of the 101 best American restaurants. Here is a sampling from our list of the best dining in America, a country with so many types of cuisine to choose from, finding the best can be downright daunting.  



    Alinea, Chicago The Alinea Restaurant beat out all the other restaurants in Chicago and claimed the number two spot overall.

    Franklin Barbecue, Austin Austin's Franklin Barbecue took home the crown for the highest-ranked restaurant in the South.

    Blue Hill at Stone Barns, Pocantico Hills, NY  Blue Hill at Stone Barns topped our list for Northeast restaurants.

    Cochon, New Orleans Cochon won for best cajun cuisine, beating out every other restaurant in New Orleans. Here's a look at their smoked ham hock with farro, consommé, pickled squash & bitter greens.


    Slanted Door, San Francisco With open access to the Pacific Ocean, the Slanted Door blends Vietnamese cooking techniques and flavors with local ingredients. The restaurant ranked 42 on our list.

    Husk, Charleston, SC Last year, Husk was voted Best Restaurant by Southern Living Magazine. This year, Husk makes our list as well, coming in at 41.

    La Grenouille, New York City This little New York bistro barely made the list, sliding in at 101, but we couldn't be happier La Grenouille made the cut.

    Pok Pok, Portland, Ore. A newcomer to the list this year, Pok Pok was rated the best restaurant in the Northwest.
