Leading digital media company Eventful Inc. has joined forces with Universal Pictures for the first-ever online campaign to allow our nation’s troops to experience the adventure blockbuster “Battleship,” before the rest of the world.

Starring Alexander Skarsgard, Brooklyn Decker, Liam Neeson and Taylor Kitsch, “Battleship” unfolds across the seas, in the skies, and over land as planet Earth fights for survival against a superior force – and ten U.S. military bases can feel the force first.

To join the “Battle of the Bases” campaign, friends and family may choose a military base that is near or special to them by voting online. The ten bases that receive the highest online vote tally by May 8 will receive an advance screening of the highly-anticipated action flick at a theater near the base between May 15 and May 17.

“These early screenings of ‘Battleship’ allow Universal an opportunity to thank our active duty and reserve service members and their families for their constant sacrifices,” said Josh Goldstine, President of Theatrical Marketing, Universal Pictures.

“The spirit of the film is one of assembling the best of the best for a daunting, shared mission. We hope that by bringing together our soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and coast guardsmen with their families, they may enjoy a night out at the movies.”
