    Backstreet Boys member Brian Littrell is the latest celebrity to be diagnosed with the H1N1 virus, according to a statement released by the band Monday. As a preventative measure, Litrell and his fellow band-mates were prescribed Tamiflu and were forced to cancel appearances in New York Tuesday.     Shock-rocker Marilyn Manson recently admitted that a doctor had diagnosed him with  the H1N1 virus.  On his MySpace blog, he said. "So I have officially been diagnosed, by a real doctor, with THE SWINE FLU ... the doctor said my past choices in women have in no way contributed to me acquiring this mysterious sickness.     CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta picked up the H1N1 virus while on a trip to Afghanistan and said it was the sickest he had ever been. Blogging about his experience, Gupta said it began as a violent cough and the subsequent nausea and lightheadedness forced him to go to the hospital. Still, he said there wasn't much the doctors could do for him, aside from some Tylenol and a sinus decongestant. A few days later, he was fine. (Source: AP)

In July, news broke that the 20-year-old had contracted the virus while filming the latest installment of the "Harry Potter" series. After taking a few days off from filming, he was able to attend the premiere of the film and later return to filming. Alas, not even magic can save you from the virus.

    Texas Rangers pitcher Vicente Padilla was diagnosed with H1N1 in July and was the first professional athlete to contract the virus. Several other players were hit with flu-like symptoms the following week, prompting the team call a meeting to advise players on proper hygiene. Padilla has since made a full recovery.

    Texans' rookie tight end Anthony Hill was the NFL's first confirmed case of H1N1, diagnosed just a few days ago. Texan spokesman Tony Wyllie assured fans that there was no cause for concern (and not just because Hill hasn't played in any games this season), since no other members of the team had contracted the virus. Hill has since been released from the hospital and is expected to be completely fine.
