International singer Nelly Furtado plans to donate $1 million paid to her for a performance she gave exclusively to Libya’s Muammar al-Qaddafi's entourage to charity.
The “maneater” star, who broke the news via her twitter account, said she sang for a Qaddafi event in 2007.
"In 2007, I received 1million$ from the Qaddafi clan to perform a 45 min. Show for guests at a hotel in Italy," she wrote on Monday. "I am going to donate the $,” posted Furtado.
Other celebrities who reportedly performed for Qaddafi's family have been tight-lipped. These include Beyoncé and Usher who reportedly performed at a New Year's Eve party for Qaddafi's son Muatassim on the Caribbean island of St. Barts, while R&B singer Mariah Carey was hired to sing at a previous New Year's bash.
