Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon have suffered through a stressful holiday season, as Cannon is hospitalized with what Carey described as a “mild kidney failure.”

“We're trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful,” the singer posted in a message on her website on January 4. “They tried to kick me out of the hospital but here I am pon de bed with Mr. C.”

Carey and Cannon were in Aspen, Colo., with their twins, Monroe and Morocco, to celebrate the holidays. On January 3, Cannon posted pictures of his family bundled up and walking through the streets of Aspen, describing their experience as “magical.”

Less than 24 hours later, Carey tweeted, “Please pray for Nick as he’s fighting to cover from a mild kidney failure,” adding the hashtag #mybraveman.

Carey also posted a photo of her and Cannon lying in a hospital bed, not looking too happy.

“We're doing OK but we're "straaaaaanded in Aspen". #DramaticDivaPlace (I know, we could be in a lot worse places) but the truth is as long as we're together, we're OK. I'm not trying to make light out of the situation because it's a serious moment that's very tough on all of us so please keep us and our family in your prayers. LYM.”
