Laurie Hernandez might be taking her bubbly persona from the balance beam to the ballroom.
The two-time Olympic gymnast is reportedly in talks to join the upcoming season of “Dancing with the Stars” following her strong debut in Rio.
Us Weekly reported on Sunday that the 16-year-old Latina would be joining the likes of Amber Rose, “Brady Bunch” alum Maureen McCormick, actor Jake T. Austin and even fellow Olympian Ryan Lochte in the dance-off for a mirror ball trophy.
ABC has not confirmed the upcoming celebrity dancers and will reveal the full season’s cast on Tuesday on Good Morning America.
According to the magazine, Hernandez’s teammate Simone Biles was up for consideration for the new season, however the spot went to the teenager.
“They would love to cast some Olympians if possible,” a source told Us earlier this month.
Hernandez would not be the first Olympic gymnast to be part of the “Dancing with the Stars” family. Shawn Johnson swept the competition in season 8 of the hit ABC show and returned in 2012 for the all-star edition, placing in second behind Melissa Rycroft.
Nastia Liukin competed with Derek Hough in season 20 and placed fourth behind Rumer Willis, Ryker Lynch and Noah Galloway.
Since returning from the Rio Olympics last month, Hernandez has been having a whirlwind experience with the “Final Five” that included meeting none other than Beyonce at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.
“I just hugged Beyoncé,” she tweeted.
Her reaction to meeting Queen B was captured for the world to see.
