How to Get Sofia Vergara's Body
At age 42, Sofia Vergara has one of the best bodies in Hollywood. So it’s no wonder the actress flaunted her bikini bottoms for the November issue of Shape, hitting newsstands Friday.

But, like many of us, the “Modern Family” star has a serious sweet tooth. So, how does the shapely screen siren stay so slim?
People magazine is reporting that, despite thinking about trying hypnosis to cure her “undying love” for cake, the Colombian-born actress implements a workout routine she can actually stick with.
“Because her ‘bad knees’ prevent her from jogging or doing moves like traditional squats, Vergara uses a Pilates-like machine called the Megaformer, which has adjustable springs and pulleys,” says the entertainment magazine.
“With this machine, I was able to figure out what worked for me,” says Vergara. “I don’t love it at all, but I love how my body’s changing.”

“We work out at least five times a week for 50 minutes to an hour, depending on her schedule,” Vergara's trainer Jennifer Yates tells People.
“She loves working the butt,” adds Yates. “We do a lot of squats and deadlifts and lunges [on the machine], and we do a lot of things off the machine as well. Recently, we’ve been combining some of the heavier weights for the lower body because she’s trying to put a little more mass on, so we’ve been doing a lot of work with kettlebells.”
When she's not breaking a sweat at the gym, Yates insists that Vergara take her weights and resistance bands with her on vacation to avoid missing a beat. And as for Vergara herself? The actress says she’s developed a mantra to keep her cravings in check.
“When I do indulge, I exercise a bit harder the next day,” says Vergara. “My workout motto is really simple: No pain, no cake!”
