For Spring 2010, Vivienne was heavily inspired by the butterfly. She referenced a famous Chinese opera,"Butterfly Lovers," in the program, a story about two young lovers kept apart in life who are reincarnated as butterflies and finally get the chance to be together.![Vivienne_Tam10]()
The collection drew upon all aspects of the butterfly- the colors, the ability to change, the free-flowing motion, and the fact that they never fly in a straight line, causing them to be very bohemian-like and free. As such, there was a very strong boho, seventies-inspired feel.![Vivienne_Tam9]()
There were plenty of dresses and tops crafted in airy chiffon in shades ranging from muted and ethereal to vibrant and bold, all of which were incredibly gorgeous and totally wearable.![Vivienne_Tam7]()
There was also a selection of amazing separates to choose from- silk tops, suede pants and jackets, embroidered vests, structured skirts, etc. And of course, the butterfly was a a major fixture, with butterfly prints, appliques, and embroidery decorating almost every piece.![Vivienne_Tam6]()
