CMA Fashion: Best and Worst Dressed
Who looked hot at the Country Music Awards and whose look was a flop?
Last night, the country stars at the CMAs brought Hollywood style back to prime time. In one of the more glamorous country music shows in recent memory, stars like Carrie Underwood, LeAnn Rimes and Taylor Swift dazzled in chic gowns and sparkling jewels. But it wasn't all perfection and you can be sure we found a few fashion missteps along the way. Take a look at our best and worst dressed picks of the night and then head over to the Fox411 blog to cast your vote on who had the best look and who had the worst. (Source: AP)read moreAP
Best: Carrie's shimmering dress was one of a whopping nine costume changes worn during the CMAs, but this one was undoubtedly her best. The sparkling Theia gown featured platinum jewels. Her minimal accessories and bombshell hair kept all eyes on the stunning host and nominee. (Source: AP)read more
WORST: While the jeweled color of Michelle Branch's short cocktail dress is lovely against her skin, the length and accessories for her dress were all wrong for a night of glamour. From the bib necklace to a spike-embellished clutch, her accessories clashed with her Matthew Williamson dress, giving her a confused, unpolished look. (Source: AP)read more![Faith Hill]()
WORST: A newly redhead Kellie Pickler took a serious chance with the shiny trend that dominated the fashion runways this season, but the look was a little more mermaid showgirl than red carpet glamour. Perhaps had the David Meister gown been shorter or just a little less form fitting, the look would have been much more flattering. (Source: AP)read more
BEST: Jennifer Nettles had the best look of the night in a form-fitting, strapless Luisa Beccaria dress. The ruched bodice and textured skirt added surprising details to the simple cut and Nettles kept the accessories at a minimum to allow the beautiful dress to take center stage. (Source: AP)read more
WORST: For a Hollywood star and wife of the night's host Brad Paisley, Kimberly Williams Paisley made a huge misstep with a gown that appeared to have been a reject from the Chicos 1994 Spring catalog. The multiple straps, old fashioned shoes and busy pattern overwhelmed Paisley, giving her a look that earned her the title of one of the night's worst. (Source: AP)read more![LeAnn Rimes]()
WORST: At first glance, we loved the shocking pink color of Nicole Kidman's gown. But upon closer inspection, we noticed a few unsettling things about the look. First, we couldn't help but notice that the dress seemed painfully tight at the neckline, only adding attention to her surprisingly unkempt hair. And it's not really that the dress is bad, it's more that it looks like everyone's dream prom dress ... from the 1990s. You know the one your mom said you couldn't get from JCPenny? Only it wasn't the prom, Nicole isn't 17 and it's 2009. (Source: AP)read more
BEST: In one of the most glamorous looks of the night, Reba McEntire dazzled in a gorgeous black sequin gown. Even more surprising? She designed the dress herself with the co-creator of her impending clothing line, Terry Gordon. Just when you thought Reba couldn't get any better ... (Source: AP)read more![Ashley Monroe]()
BEST: This year, the show was most definitely all about Taylor Swift's and the teen star -- and Entertainer of the Year -- stunned in a gold sequin Reem Acra gown. The gown struck the perfect balance of youthful elegance and old Hollywood glamour and earned Swift our top style awards, in addition to her countless other awards of the night.
