Democrats debate retweeting Cardi B’s post of Trump’s government shutdown
Senate Democrats debated on twitter whether or not to re-tweet a post by rapper Cardi B after she gave her take on the Trump government shutdown.
LOS ANGELES – J. White, the musical mastermind behind Cardi B’s billboard smashes “Bodak Yellow” and “I Like It,” didn’t hold back in his praise for the rapper’s unlikely evolution into becoming an international superstar.
White knew from the beginning the “Be Careful” rapper was special and told Fox News he’s excited to witness Cardi’s rise firsthand.

“Working with her, man – I started with her. So to me, it’s just crazy to see her grow,” White told us Sunday on the Grammys red carpet. It’s crazy to see this girl become the girl everybody said ‘no’ to – now everybody is like, 'Oh, my God – Cardi B!' It’s just unreal to see her do the commercials and see her do television and see her get recognized like that. The whole ride is dope – hell, I’m here talking to you! It’s dope. Hard work pays off.”

Cardi, who is known for her willingness to say whatever is on her mind, nearly stole the show Sunday night when she made history becoming the first solo woman to take home a Grammy award for best rap album – beating out Nipsey Hussle, Pusha T, Travis Scott and the late Mac Miller.

During her speech, the new mother took the stage with her husband Offset and struggled to hold back tears as she accepted the coveted hardware.
“I want to thank my daughter,” she said. “I’m not just saying thank you because she’s my daughter. It’s because, you know, when I found out I was pregnant, my album was not complete, like three songs that I was for sure having. And then you know, you know how it was, we was like, we have to get this album done so I could still do videos while I’m still not showing. And it was very long nights.”

Despite her teary acceptance, Cardi admitted, "The nerves are so bad" and joked with the audience, “Maybe I need to start smoking weed.”
In addition to winning best rap album for “Invasion of Privacy,” Cardi also scored nominations for album of the year, best rap performance with “Be Careful,” record of the year with, “I Like It,” and pop duo/group performance with Maroon 5 for “Girls Like You.”
