Lexus will soon unleash one of the raciest models it's ever created, a two-door take on the 2014 IS sedan that features the most enormous version of the company's signature "spindle" grille yet, bulging fenders and wheel arches, and a V8 engine it promises will be the most powerful one it's ever produced.![Lexus RC F]()
That means it will have at least more than the 416 hp of the current IS F four-door that it essentially replaces. While that one competes against the BMW M3 sedan, the RC F is aimed squarely at the new M4 coupe and features rear-wheel-drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission.![Lexus RC F]()
But while the exterior is all its own, the cabin is nearly identical to the one in the IS sedan, with the gauge cluster, seats, pedals and steering wheel unique to the RC F. It also marks the debut of the next generation of Lexus' Remote Touch infotainment system control, replacing the joystick/mouse in current cars with a touchpad interface. The RC F is scheduled to make its public debut at the Detroit Auto Show on January 14th.
