Automakers strive to prove neutrality, the carbon kind, can still be fun.
Ferraris have been synonymous with the color red for so long that the company may be taking the association with hues a bit literally. The 599 HY-KERS concept is the company's first take on a hybrid car, and likely the first one you've ever seen painted green. Using a variation of the Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) developed for its F1 cars, a battery-powered electric motor offers up a 100 hp boost to the V12 gasoline engine when needed, and can even propel the car on it's own, turning it into the first ever 100 hp Ferrari - at least for short trips.read moreAPShare![Porsche Hybrids]()
If the 918 Spyder Concept is anything to go by, Porsche's next supercar will be a game-changer. The two-seater combines a 500 hp V8 with two electric motors adding 218 hp to the mix. Able to drive in full electric mode for 16 miles, Porsche says the all-wheel-drive car will accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds, reach 198 mph, and deliver 78 mpg when you're not doing trying to do either of the previous two things.read moreAPShare
The Citroen Survolt is an electric car in name only. The highly-styled concept little more than a vision of the future from the French automaker's design studio as information on what might one day propel this purple menace through the streets of Paris as scarce as Survolt's are sure to be in the real world.read moreAPShare
It may not look it - in fact, it doesn't - but the Audi A1 e-tron is one of the most interesting cars at the Geneva Auto Salon. The subcompact uses an extended range electric powertrain similar in concept to the one found in the Chevy Volt, but instead of a small four cylinder engine to generate electricity after the first 31 miles of all-electric operation the A1 utilizes an even smaller Wankel rotary engine to keep the car going for an additional 124 miles. Overall fuel economy is expected to be 124 mpg over the full 155-mile range.read moreAPShare
You can always count on the home team to put on a show in Geneva, as small Swiss automaker Sbarro usually brings the wildest wares. Far from futuristic, the Coupe Autobau looks more like something the Hot Wheels team dreamed up back in the 1970's, and pedestrians probably want to stay clear of the 500 hp sleds ankle-biting front fender.read moreAPShare![Gazal 1]()
When the Audi S5 came out a couple of years ago, the main question on peoples' minds was when would the RS 5 be available? Well, if you live in Europe, you can get one this year, with at 450 hp version of Audi's well-known 4.2 V8. What's not know is whether or not this one will make it to the United States. If there was a bridge connecting Europe and North America, it wouldn't take too long.read moreAPShare
Ford's pending sale of Volvo to China's Geely may still be pending, but the Swedish automaker is moving forward as if the change in ownership will be a mere bump in the road. The 2011 S60 sedan is far from revolutionary, but with a 304 hp turbocharged inline-6, available all-wheel-drive, and more safety features than anyone will hopefully ever need, it should keep the faithful happy. It even features a pedestrian avoidance system that the folks at Sbarro may want to look into licensing for that Autobau.read moreAPShare![2011 Kia Sportage]()
Switzerland seems like a good place for the reborn Hispano Suiza brand to make its debut. The pre-war Spanish coachbuilder putting up its shingle in the form of a supercharged, 750 hp Audi R8 V10 with a questionably styled new body. The price to take part in this resurrection? $950,000. Look at it this way, a Picasso would cost a lot more, and can't go 211 mph.read moreAPShare![Koenigsegg Agera]()

The Bertone Pandion is what a show car is supposed to be: dramatically styled, but with just enough semblance of reality to make you think someone will actually put it into production. To drive the point home the wing-door coupe uses off the shelf parts from Alfa Romeo and Maserati underneath its concept car body, but, sadly, that still doesn't mean we'll be seeing anything like it in showrooms anytime soon.read moreAPShare![2011 Mazda 5]()

The styling of the Nissan Juke may be as European as it comes, but the teeny Crossover Utility Vehicle is heading this way. Based on the platform of equally odd-looking Nissan Cube, the Juke's signature design element is a center console painted to look like the gas tank of a motorcycle. We'll have to wait until fall to see if it has the moves of one, too.read moreAPShare- Published17 Images
