June 2: Police stand next to a body following a shooting on Duke Street, in the town of Whitehaven in northwest England on Wednesday. The rampage in the county of Cumbria is Britain's deadliest mass shooting since 1996 and shocked a country where gun ownership is tightly restricted.. The Cumbria Constabulary said there have been "a number of fatalities" as well as several injuries after shots were fired in the town of Whitehaven and nearby Seascale and Egremont.
