A lawyer for two of four men on trial for a 2005 plane crash that killed 121 people says Cyprus' attorney general has dropped all charges because a Greek court had already convicted three of them in a separate trial.
Greek investigators blamed the crash of the Helios Airways flight outside Athens on human error after an unpressurized cabin knocked out both pilots soon after takeoff from Cyprus. A Greek court earlier this month upheld a conviction against three former airline officials on charges of negligent manslaughter.
Defense lawyer George Papaioannou says the attorney general decided to drop the case against them and a fourth. He says it would be difficult to prosecute the fourth official alone.
