France's interior ministry says police have foiled a jihadi attack on a French swingers club.

The ministry said Friday that authorities thwarted the attack on May 13 after the arrest of a man who was "known for his radicalization" in the Loire region town of Chateauroux. He was handed preliminary charges linked to the foiled attack and imprisoned.

An improvised explosive device was found in the home of the man, born in 1980, who confessed to wanting to use it against a swingers club. Authorities have not publicly identified the man.

The ministry says this arrest brings to five the number of attacks thwarted in France since the beginning of the year.
