Prosecutors say two British men accused of providing cash to a key figure in the mass terror attacks in Brussels and Paris used a bank account that included government money from excess housing benefits.
The information was revealed Friday in a court hearing for Zakaria Boufassil and Mohammed Ali Ahmed, two men from England accused of providing money to Mohamed Abrini, who has been charged in the terror attacks in Brussels on March 22 and in Paris on Nov. 13, 2015.
Prosecutors say the men gave 3000 pounds ($3700) from the account of a third man, who was receiving government assistance, to Abrini when he traveled to England in July 2015.
They are charged in Kingston Crown Court with intending to commit terrorism or help someone else commit terrorism.
