The wife of a detained Palestinian journalist says she believes Israel is trying to silence him.
Omar Nazzal, 53, was seized at an Israeli-run border crossing over the weekend. He was heading to a meeting of the European Federation of Journalists in Bosnia.
Israel did not say Tuesday why it arrested Nazzal.
Nazzal headed Palestine Today, a TV station affiliated with the militant group Islamic Jihad, for five months, but quit earlier this year. He also had ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a small PLO faction.
Nazzal frequently spoke out against Israeli closures of media outlets accused of incitement.
Nazzal's wife says an Israeli prosecutor told a military court this week that he had collected secret evidence against her husband, which he would not disclose.
