The Israeli military says it has disciplined two soldiers after they set ablaze a Palestinian flag in the West Bank.
Israeli media reported that the two solders were stopping cars near the West Bank city of Nablus and removed a Palestinian flag from one of them and proceeded to burn it. Israeli media said that Palestinian witnesses reported the incident to authorities.
The military says in a statement that Wednesday's flag-burning contradicts "the behavioural expectations of the troops."
The military says one soldier was jailed for 28 days. The second soldier was confined to his base for 20 days.
