A local official in Albania says a military helicopter has crashed at Shkodra Lake in the north of the country, Albania, with two of its crew still missing and one injured.

Tonin Marinaj, mayor of Malesi e Madhe, told reporters that a helicopter crashed Wednesday at about 2 p.m. (1200 GMT) at the Shkodra Lake near Grizhe village, 108 kilometers (67 miles) north of the capital, Tirana.

A few fishermen and residents there took one injured person to a hospital and believe two others were aboard.

Neither the Defense Ministry nor police could officially confirm or give details on the crash.

The army chief of staff is expected to hold a news conference later.
