The ambassadors from European Union countries have paid their respects to slain Russian opposition leader Boris Nemtsov by visiting the makeshift memorial on the bridge where he was shot.
Saturday was the anniversary of his killing, and tens of thousands marched through Moscow to honor his memory, with many later coming to the bridge to lay flowers.
The ambassadors from the 28-member EU came Sunday, adding their flowers to the bouquets stretching along the bridge near the Kremlin.
French Ambassador Jean-Maurice Ripert said it was "important to pay respects for a man who didn't fear to say what he had to say. ... And of course this is something that the European Union is fighting for. We fight for it for ourselves and we fight for it for others."
