Guatemalan prosecutors have presented a formal accusation against former President Otto Perez Molina, who resigned this year amid a sprawling corruption scandal.

Prosecutor Francisco Sandoval says Perez Molina is suspected of illicit association, customs fraud and bribery.

Sandoval said Wednesday that the investigation has reached its conclusion.

Perez Molina resigned as president Sept. 4 after prosecutors and a U.N. commission investigating corruption in Guatemala alleged that he was part of a multimillion-dollar graft ring.

His former vice president, Roxana Baldetti, is also in prison facing charges. Both deny any wrongdoing.
