Don’t worry, Santa is still alive and kicking.

A Norwegian newspaper reported Friday that an obituary for Santa Claus that was published on its website a day earlier “should never have been published,” The Local reports.

“Our dear Father Christmas, born 12 December 1788 … died on 3 December in Nordkapp,” the original post said, referring to Norway’s northernmost point.

The post added that a funeral will be held Dec. 28 at the “Chapel of the North Pole.”

The newspaper said it will "review its internal processes to establish what went wrong,” and figure out how the post – which is now removed -- managed to make it up on its website.

"Aftenposten has strict guidelines for both the content and use of symbols in our obituaries. This ad is a violation of these and should never have been published," said the newspaper's editor Hakon Borud, according to The Local.
