A large demonstration is taking place in the Afghan capital Kabul to protest the killing of seven ethnic minority Hazaras, allegedly by the Taliban.

Hundreds of people have gathered in the rain west of the city on Wednesday and organizer Daud Naji says they will carry the bodies to the Presidential Palace.

Officials have said the four men, two women and a child were found partially beheaded on Saturday in the southeastern province of Zabul.

They had been kidnapped in neighboring Ghazni province up to six months earlier. Afghanistan's spy agency dismissed Taliban claims that affiliates of the Islamic State group were behind the killings.

Protesters carried the coffins through the streets toward the center of town, chanting "Death to the Taliban" and calling on President Ashraf Ghani to resign.
