A civil defense officer says five people were killed and 10 wounded when two containers filled with fireworks exploded in a large customs storage area in the Jordanian capital of Amman.
The officer, Iyad al-Amer, says some of those hurt in Monday's blasts are in critical condition.
A large column of smoke rose from the area.
Al-Amer says Jordan's prime minister and interior minister rushed to the scene of the explosion.
