Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga has started meeting with political leaders trying to resolve a dispute on the government's deals with Serbia and Montenegro.

The opposition has used tear gas and thrown eggs at Prime Minister Isa Mustafa in parliament, calling on the government to withdraw from its deals with Serbia on giving more powers to the Serb-dominated areas in Kosovo and on border demarcation with Montenegro.

The premier has said he is determined to continue EU-mediated talks with Serbia accusing the opposition of trying to come to power in a non-democratic way.

Jahjaga said Monday the political parties should "show their will to jointly find a common language to come out of such a situation."

Kosovo unilaterally declared independence in 2008, not recognized by Serbia.
