French authorities say the pilot of a Swiss F-18 military jet was hospitalized after ejecting shortly before his aircraft crashed into an uninhabited area in eastern France.
Regional officials in the Doubs department say in a statement that the 38-year-old pilot was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Besancon, but that he had no life-threatening injuries.
Officials didn't say what caused the jet to crash Wednesday morning near Glamondans, a village of about 200 people 166 kilometers (103 miles) north of Geneva.
