COPENHAGEN, Denmark – Danish police says a New York-bound Turkish Airlines plane made an emergency landing at Copenhagen's international airport after an old camera bag, possibly forgotten by a passenger, caused a bomb scare.
Police spokesman Christian Olsgaard says the discovery led to bomb-sniffing dogs and army bomb experts to comb the aircraft on Thursday.
Olsgaard said a bag with an old camera, "possibly forgotten by an earlier passenger," had not been spotted during cleaning and that the plane was expected to resume its flight soon.
The discovery prompted the pilot on the aircraft that was en route from Istanbul to New York, to land in Copenhagen where it taxied to a remote corner. All passengers and crew were evacuated by bus.
Turkish Airlines did not immediately return messages seeking comment.
