ANKARA, Turkey – Turkey's state-run news agency say police have detained four people suspected of cheating by leaking questions to military school entrance exams.
The Anadolu Agency said Wednesday's arrests in the central Turkish city of Kayseri and in the capital, Ankara, were part of a crackdown on supporters of a movement led by a U.S.-based Muslim cleric Fethullah Gulen, which the government accuses of trying to destabilize it.
The four are suspected of giving exam questions to some candidates trying to enter the military schools during the 2011-2012 academic year, in a bid to place Gulen supporters in the armed forces.
The agency said three other people wanted by police may have fled Turkey for Kyrgyzstan.
Last week, Turkey seized a bank associated with Gulen, citing financial difficulties.
