SANAA, Yemen – Residents of Sanaa say a Saudi-led coalition has carried out the heaviest strikes on the Yemeni capital since the expiration of a truce with Shiite rebels, striking weapons depots and shaking residential areas several miles (kilometers) away.

Witnesses say the strikes began shortly after midnight Tuesday and kept residents awake throughout the night.

The Saudi-led strikes were focused on two mountains, Fag Atan and Noqom, where missiles, tanks and artillery are kept.

The coalition has repeatedly struck the two sites since launching the air campaign against Iran-supported rebels, known as Houthis, on March 26. But Tuesday's assault was the heaviest since the expiration of a five-day humanitarian truce, which was repeatedly violated.
