Bosnia's parliament has adopted an economic and social reform plan that could unblock the country's path toward EU membership.
Monday's vote opens the door for EU members to ratify a pre-accession agreement Bosnia signed with the bloc seven years ago.
EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini called it a "historic turning point" and said the 28-nation union now wants to see concrete implementation of the reforms.
Bosnia has been stuck on its EU path for years mostly because of inter-ethnic bickering between Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats, who each have different ideas of what the country should look like in the future — further divided or more unified. All three, however, agree it should join the EU. The adopted plan how to get there was developed by Germany and Britain.
