A nursing home worker in China is accused of killing three elderly residents and injuring 15 others with a brick Saturday, state media said.

Luo Renchu, 64, had argued with his boss over unpaid wages prior to his assault on other elderly residents and staff at the privately run home in the central part of the country early Thursday, the Shuangfeng county government said in a statement Thursday.

The Xinhua News Agency reported that the attacked happened after an argument over 40,000 yuan in unpaid wages. Luo and his wife, who also works at the home, had been promised 10,000 yuan before the start of the Chinese New Year, which was also Thursday.

The owner’s mother and brother were also among the 15 assaulted. Six others were in life-threatening condition.

Luo is still on the run and police were still searching for him Saturday.
