Bahrain's Interior Ministry says a citizen of the kingdom has been killed in a "terrorist bombing" in a village southwest of the capital Manama, the second deadly explosion in as many days.

The ministry announced the attack in Karzakan on its official Twitter feed Tuesday. The blast in the predominantly Shiite community also injured an Asian man.

A Jordanian police officer was killed in a separate attack elsewhere late Monday. Maj. Gen. Tariq al-Hassan, the public security chief, on Tuesday identified the slain officer as Ali Mohammed Ali and said he was working as part of a security and training exchange agreement between the two kingdoms.

Anti-government activists primarily drawn from the Sunni-ruled Bahrain's Shiite majority frequently clash with police, and hard-line protesters have at times used improvised explosives.
