Gaza's Hamas rulers vow to revenge on Israel after 7 of its militants killed in explosion

The Islamic militant group Hamas that rules Gaza has vowed revenge for the death of seven of its members in an airstrike.

Hamas' said "the enemy will pay a tremendous price," referring to Israel.

The group said its men were killed in a tunnel. Two militants from a different group were also killed in a separate strike early Monday.

Israel said it carried out airstrikes on at least 14 "terror" sites in retaliation to a recent spike in attacks from Gaza. About a dozen rockets were fired at Israel from Gaza overnight the military said. One injured a soldier.

Tensions have been tense on Israel's Gaza border for weeks since the abduction and killing of three Israeli teens and the apparent revenge killing by Israeli extremists of a Palestinian teen.
