Cuba says 4 dead in connection with presumed 'illegal exit plan' in coastal town near Havana

Cuban authorities say four people are dead in connection with an apparent attempt to leave the island illegally.

The Interior Ministry reports that the bodies were found Tuesday on a farm in the coastal town of Playa Baracoa, just west of Havana in Artemisa province.

A Ministry statement Wednesday says the deaths are "associated with a presumed illegal exit plan with support from abroad."

It adds that the victims died "violently," but does not give more details.

Six suspects were detained.
