Cuba: 8 arrested, including 5 teachers, in alleged scheme to sell university entrance exams

Cuban authorities say they have arrested eight people in a scandal over the sale of university entrance exams that forced thousands of high school students to take the test over.

The unnamed suspects include five teachers, a methodologist, an employee at the Ministry of Higher Education's printer's office and a person not linked to the education sector.

The scandal has been a fixture in state media in recent weeks, and Monday's announcement called it a "matter of great sensitivity."

The announcement was signed by three Cabinet ministries including Interior — the arm of government that is in charge of state security.

There was no word on possible criminal charges.
