Indonesian international school pledges to cooperate with police in child abuse investigation

A prestigious international school in Indonesia says it is cooperating with police in their investigation into an alleged child abuse case that has triggered intense interest.

The Jakarta International School headmaster Timothy Carr told foreign correspondents Thursday the school would ensure that such a "horrendous event" never reoccurred.

Police are investigating the alleged abuse of a 6-year-old child at the school by two cleaners.

Earlier this week, the FBI said a man who committed suicide in Minnesota last month was a suspected child predator who worked at 10 American and other international schools abroad for more than four decades. He worked at JIS from 1992-2002.
