Toronto Mayor Rob Ford got a second chance to vote on congratulating Canada's Olympic and Paralympic athletes. This time, he voted yes.
A day after he said he mistakenly cast the sole "no" vote on the measure, the City Council allowed him to vote again.
Ford's initial no vote drew audible gasps in the council chamber Wednesday. Minutes earlier, he became the only council member to vote against naming part of a Toronto street after the late Nelson Mandela.
Ford asked for a re-vote on both motions soon after but was denied. The council allowed him a redo Thursday and he voted yes to both motions.
Ford is seeking re-election this year despite a record of erratic behavior and acknowledging last year that he had smoked crack.
