Israeli military says roadside bomb targets patrol on Lebanese border; no reported casualties

The Israeli military says a roadside bomb targeted a group of soldiers patrolling the border with Lebanon, but there were no immediate reports of casualties.

The military did not provide any further details of Friday's explosion. A spokesman reached by telephone said the military was looking into the incident.

In Lebanon, security officials say at least two artillery shells fired from Israel landed near the village of Halta in southern Lebanon, but caused no casualties.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity in line with regulations.

A Halta resident reached by telephone said at least six or seven shells landed in the hills east of the village.

It was not immediately clear whether the two incidents were related.
