German authorities say they've charged four Turkish men with belonging to a leftist terrorist organization believed to be behind the suicide bombing on the U.S. Embassy in Ankara last year.

The four men, Ozgur A., 32, Sonnur D., 37, Muzaffer D., 42, and Yusuf T., 40, are accused of belonging to the Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front, or DHKP-C, since the 1990s or early 2000s. Their last names were not provided in accordance with German privacy laws.

Federal prosecutors say they're suspected of raising funds and recruiting members in Germany, while Sonnur D. and Yusuf T. were also active in the Netherlands.

They were charged Feb. 7, prosecutors said Thursday.

DHKP-C advocates setting up a socialist state in Turkey and is accused of a string of bombings and assassinations there.
