PRISTINA, Kosovo – A Kosovo lawmaker who is also son of Kosovo's late President Ibrahim Rugova is being questioned by European Union police and justice workers for alleged involvement in organized crime and fraud.
Officers on Wednesday are also searching Uke Rugova's residence, which for many years served as the main office of his father, Ibrahim, who spearheaded Kosovo's independence from Serbia.
Uke Rugova's lawyer, Bajram Tmava, says his client is being questioned by the officers inside his residence, but gave no other details.
The spokesman for the EU's rule of law mission in Kosovo, said their officers in Wednesday have raided properties of several suspects involved in fraud, organized crime and trading in influence, without identifying them.
