Edinburgh airport in Scotland closed, flights cancelled, following bomb alert

Officials say a Scottish airport has been closed following the discovery of a suspicious package.

Edinburgh Airport was evacuated and a police cordon was thrown up Tuesday after the discovery of a "suspicious bag" at 1:50 p.m.

Explosive disposal experts are at the scene. Several outbound flights have been canceled, while inbound flights have been diverted to Glasgow Airport, about 50 miles (80 kilometers) away.
