Dominican Hair Salons Taking America By Storm

It's impressive how many of Dominican beauty salons seemed to defy all economic odds even during the great recession.

How alive is the American dream?  Pretty strong if you check with one group of people coming to the U.S. from the Dominican Republic. They are the hair stylists who can trim, tease and do everything in between with ease. These heroines of hair seem to be unstoppable once they reach American shores, with salons sprouting up in urban areas across the country - first in New York and now moving west.

Fox News Latino and Fox News Channel joined resources to get the story of "Pelo! Pelo! The Film" and found that many of the shops along the streets of New York City defy all economic odds during a recession. They’re creating jobs and security for thousands of Dominican women and men who dare to do the dream of hair in America.
